About this event

Orlando's inaugural Hangeul Day Festival celebrates the Korean alphabet with a full day of community contests, hands-on craft booths, and local vendors, open to anyone who loves Hangeul.

What's on
  • 골든벨 Quiz Challenge: trivia covering Korean dramas, K-pop, and food

  • 백일장 Writing Contest: adult and children divisions on surprise topics using traditional manuscript paper

  • 받아쓰기 Dictation Contest: tournament spelling bee through words, phrases, and sentences (native Koreans ineligible)

  • Hangeul Calligraphy Booth: try your hand at Korean letter styling

  • Hangeul Face Painting: get Korean letters painted on site

  • Custom Hangeul T-Shirt Making: craft your own personalized Hangeul shirt

  • Hangeul Typing Contest: test your Korean typing speed on Cheonjiin keyboards

  • Food & Merch Vendors: shop goods and food from local sellers

Vendors

Stalls are capped at 20 ± 5 spots. To thank sellers for participating in the inaugural festival, table fees are set at the organiser's lowest rate. Applications are handled through okccenter.com via the Vendor Application link.

The Orlando Korea Culture Center (@orlandokoreaculturecenter) is also enrolling students for its Fall Korean Language School semester, running October 6 to October 29 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Four levels are available: Alphabet, Beginner 1, Intermediate 1, and Advanced 1.

Classes are held in person as well as through remote live-streaming. Sign-ups go through okccenter.com using the Korean Language School Registration link.
