Celebrate the beauty of the Korean alphabet with a day full of culture, competition, and community! This inaugural event welcomes everyone who loves Hangeul to take part in exciting contests, creative workshops, and engaging cultural experiences.

Contests & Competitions

• Hangeul Writing Contest (백일장): Put your Korean writing skills to the test! Traditional Korean manuscript paper is provided for all participants. The contest features separate Children and Adult divisions, and writing will be based on a surprise topic announced live at the event.
• Hangeul Spelling Bee / Dictation Contest (받아쓰기): A tournament-style competition designed to test your Korean listening and spelling accuracy. Open to non-native Korean speakers (native Koreans are not eligible). Participants should bring a notepad and pen to compete across three distinct rounds:
  • Round 1: Words
  • Round 2: Short Phrases (e.g., 안녕하세요)
  • Round 3: Sentences
• Hangeul Golden Bell Quiz Challenge (골든벨): Put your knowledge to the test in a fun trivia challenge covering Korean culture, K-dramas, K-pop, and Korean food!
• Hangeul Typing Contest: Test your accuracy and show off your Korean typing speed in this fast-paced digital challenge!

Interactive Booths & Activities

• Hangeul Calligraphy: Discover the elegant artistry of Korean writing and try your hand at creating your own Hangeul calligraphy!
• Custom Hangeul T-Shirt Making: Get creative and design a custom t-shirt decorated with Korean letters to take home.
• Hangeul Face Painting: Celebrate the day by getting Korean letters painted on your face.
• Food & Merch Vendors: Browse through a variety of vendors offering delicious food and fun merchandise throughout the day.

Applications are currently open for vendors! A limited number of vendor spots are available (20 ± 5 spots). As a special thank-you to vendors participating in this inaugural event, vendor fees are set at the lowest rate.
